JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: BUSINESS MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: EXECUTIVE OFFICE
REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT
JOB SUMMARY: Our Business Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency including the daily operations of a single person office. They will also be responsible for sales and communications with funding agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Phone and drop in sales which will include contact with all funding agencies and private companies
-Coordination and direction of the daily workflow for the administrative support functions for the office
-selecting and coordinating suppliers and vendors;
invoicing, issuing cheques and managing collections
-managing employee expenses
-developing policies regarding health and safety, purchases, filing, and human resources
-coordinating building maintenance requirements
-creating, editing, and distributing staff communications
-assisting in the recruitment and orientation of new hires
-maintaining personnel records and managing payroll
-coordinating terminations and departures
-managing work flow for the executive team
-managing day to day office activities such as filing, mail, and reception
-making travel arrangements
-coordinating management meetings, agenda, minutes and follow-up
-developing, preparing, and editing presentations using Microsoft office
-and acting as the point of contact for information concerning general office activities
-scheduling students courses which will include booking road tests
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge
-High level capability in accounting software. Experience in QuickBooks Pro would be an asset.
-Excellent PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel)
-University degree or college diploma in office administration would be an asset
Skills/Abilities
-Professional and courteous
-Superior communication skills including a strong writing ability are a must
-Excellent administration and coordination skills
-Well organized, detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
-Team Player
-Service Oriented
-Valid driver's license and a reliable car for in town driving
Experience
-10 years provable experience
-Experience working in a high pressure, goal oriented and outcomes driven environment.
